Training Horses that Want to Perform

Meet Blue. He is a 10 year old unregistered Paint. Stands between 14.2 and 15 hands with a huge stride for his size. For the past 2 years he has been owned by an older lady who has been taking dressage lessons on him. Before she bought him he was jumping 2 ft and being ridden by intermediate kids. He would be a great low level Eventing horse as he has a great uphill hand gallop through fields and woods with lead changes and prefers to be out exploring. He gets a bit bored doing only dressage even though in the right hands he could probably do 2nd Level. Easy to adjust his stride. Quiet on the trails but has mostly only been ridden by himself, but I do feel that he would be fine with other horses.

He does have to stay on Omeprazole daily, which only runs about $60 a month for the generic paste. Wears front shoes.
He is not suited for a beginner, but he would be great for a confident young teenager or adult. With weaker riders he tends to drop his inside shoulder and be resistant about going forward. Typical lesson horse stuff. Not going to buck or rear. He’s a lot of fun for an experienced rider to play with and challenge him mentally. No joint maintenance. Asking $3200 with some negotiability.
